Student Academic Success Services
(Formerly the Learning and Academic Skills Center)
From the Fall 2005 Parent Newsletter

The Student Academic Success Services office (SASS) offers assistance to students who want to achieve their academic goals efficiently and effectively. High school often does not fully prepare students for the academic expectations and rigors of college. Students can use SASS services to develop strategies for studying, reading, writing, and test-taking, as well as to address behaviors and attitudes that sabotage performance, such as poor time management, academic anxiety, and procrastination.

The center offers courses, academic counseling, and workshops. The SASS Web site has more than 100 self-help handouts with tips and information on academic success. Students on academic probation are encouraged to use the center for intensive and individualized help. For faculty and staff, SASS staff is available for consultations and presentations.
